Nearby the Nine Elms British Cemetry, at the farm in the Helleketelweg 15 a war relict preserved. At the place of the barn, American engineers built a military aid station. On the wall you can still read the inscription ‘USA 1918 Engineers’. The construction is part of the ‘West Poperinghe Line’ which was built after the Third battle of Ypres. The bunker would never have been used during the first world war.
